It's been a while...

Clearly, I am not the best at keeping up with my blog! However it has been a while and my sister-in-law suggested that I update! So that is exactly what I am going to do....

It has been almost two months since my last post so a lot has happened....
Jennifer's Baby Shower-yeaaa that's a whole other post-I will write it next!

In the month of February we...

Celebrated my bestie's birthday by going to sushi with about 20 friends and then dancing our hearts out at the nearby bowling ally bar! LOL! It was a blast, I can't remember the name of the band, but they were really good! It is just so much fun when everyone is down to have a good time!

We also celebrated Valentine's Day. James and I made a nice dinner at home, that's about it- We aren't big on Valentine's Day because it is so "manufactured" I guess. I hate the fact that everyone has such pressure to go out to dinner, buy flowers and chocolates (that no one really wants to eat), and confess their love! These are things that should happen naturally not on a set day in February! Well, that's my rant- we did have a nice meal-just nothing crazy extravagant!

The beginning of March brought green great things...

We started the first weekend by driving down to the bay area to help Jennifer & Dan move from their crummy vintage apartment to a fabulous new apartment! We moved pretty much everything within 2 hours or so and then set everything up at a much slower pace. We got the crib and rocking chair all set up and ready for Baby Joe {his name is unknown to all of us}! After working all day, James, Jennifer, Dan and I went to dinner in Oakland at a restaurant called Burma Superstar. We put our name on the list and were told it was an hour and a half wait!!!!! So we decided to walk over to this little pizza place close by and get a beer and slice of pizza as our appetizers! I can't remember the name exactly but it had pretty good vegan pizza! The Burma Superstar was really good! However, there is no way I would actually sit and wait for 2 hours just to eat there- that's insane! It just isn't THAT good aka heavenly!

The next weekend James, Megan, Cody and I drove up to Lake Tahoe to celebrate James' birthday! WHAT AN ADVENTURE.
We left around 6:00pm on Friday night. Then figured out that CalTrans was requiring chains. We stopped at the Kragen and picked up some cables {for my HONDA}. We then drove for about an hour an a half up the freeway without any problems. Then it started to dump buckets of snow! After Megan and I complained several times from the back seat to stop and pull over to put the cables on. We did. James, Cody and I got out and attempted to put the cables on in the snow-eventually we did. We drove 25mph for another hour and a half to get to South Lake. Of course we realized the next day that had we turned the tires while we were putting on the cables we would have had a much easier time! Saturday we went on a snow/beach hike {had a snow race, went through a $4.7 million open house, saw Yoda}. We relaxed, played Trouble and cards, watched tv and pretty much just hung around. We then went to dinner at a pizza place nearby. After that we went to the casinos for several hours and played BlackJack. I won around $100! Yahoo! My first time winning! It was a ton of fun! Sunday, in slow motion we got breakfast from
aka. the best restaurant EVER!
We then laid around pretty much all day, cleaning the condo, doing laundry, Megan and I went on a walk. We left around 6pm and drove home-thoroughly sad to leave!

Then this last weekend we actually celebrated James' day of birth and St. Patrick's Day. On James' birthday, I started the day by making him a huge breakfast and cupcakes.

Then we went wine tasting in Auburn. There were a lot of great wineries up there and we plan to go again! It was so nice for the two of us to get outside and do something together that we don't usually do!

We also went to James' uncle's house for cioppino and wine family dinner. It was DELISH and so much fun!
Shocktop (I burned the Bacon &) Beer Cupcakes-recipe found here

For St. Patrick's Day, James had to work in the morning and then afterwards we met our friends {Megan, Cody, Rachel & Blake} in Sacramento for a few drinks. James and I then left and met his family for dinner at this great mexican restaurant: Tres Hermanas. After dinner, James and I met back up with our "on another level" friends and we all walked around midtown and got some dessert.

We are now enjoying a cloudy hump day, preparing to leave for San Diego tomorrow for
Shalane & Tommy's Wedding
We are so excited to see them get married and to visit my brother Zack!

Some other things that happened within the last month and a half:
I started and ended my long term substitute position. It was a ton of fun having my own classroom again. However, a combination class is definitely a challenge- it made me realize that for now that is not the kind of job I want to apply to! I am sad and glad to be done! :)
We finally met Michael & Maraline's baby boy Andrew! He is precious:

James has been working like a mad-man! We finally ordered him some new business cards and fixed his website-it's online! Now I just need to update the site with new pictures and information and get it to run a little faster!
I am really getting going with Etsy- I think I've made over $100 now! It seems like it is definitely something that could take off!

Things in the works:
We are planning to get our taxes done sometime in the next two weeks, we are then going to get pre-approved by the bank for a home loan! We are planning to buy a home this year! I have been looking at realtor.com a lot lately and there is so much out there-we just have to be on top of it to be the first to put in an offer because so many people are trying to buy houses right now!

Okay, that's all for now. I will definitely try to keep up with my blogging more often now!
xoxo!
