San Diego Adventures

What a great {extended} weekend!

James and I just got back from a wonderful weekend getaway to San Diego! We planned to go down for our friends' wedding, but also invited my parents to save on costs! So Thursday at 6:30am the 4 of us drove down to SD! We got checked into our hotel and bought groceries! We then went to check out my brother's dorm/apartment! I kid you not, the view is INCREDIBLE! It is absolutely gorgeous! Zack is really lucky to live in such a beautiful place!

Friday, we went to Torrey Pines State Park. Zack, James & I went on a little nature hike. The view was beautiful! There were some really interesting plants and lizards along the way also! Then all of us walked along the beach for a while. When we finished we ran a few errands (crate & barrel and target). We went to lunch at a place that James and I always used to go to when we lived in SD. {Previously known as Longboards-now PB Cantina-i think}. The food was not that great, neither was the service but it was nice to sit outside and relax with family! Then we went to La Jolla Shores Beach, where we met with our cousin, Michael, & his wife & son, Maraline & Andrew! It was so nice to visit with them and play some frisbee!

Saturday, first we visited Children's pool-where there are many seals that relax and play on near and on the beach! After we decided to go to the Cabrillo National Monument. It has a great view of the San Diego marina and some really fun tide pools! We checked out the visitor's center and walked along the ocean looking for sea creatures! Next, we went to lunch at a great little restaurant called Mitch's seafood-amazing clam chowder and yummy other salads & sandwiches! James and I then went to Shalane & Tommy's wedding in Del Sur! We had such a blast! The ceremony & reception were gorgeous! Shalane looked stunning! We had so much fun visiting with old friends and dancing the night away!

Unfortunately, we had to leave this morning at 5:30AM!

HAPPILY, we found out that we had a newborn nephew {born 3/23/13, 10:53pm, 7.5lbs, 20 inches}  to come and visit on the way home! We met with Mike & Ann around Manteca and then rode over to the bay area with them to see our new {currently unnamed} nephew! He is darling and we can not wait to go back next weekend and visit with and snuggle and treasure and hold him! We ate with Mike & Ann at a nice little Thai restaurant in Fairfield and then finally made it home!

Now, we sit relaxing, drinking wine, doing a whole lot of nothing, dreading working and getting things done tomorrow! Until, next time....

xoxo
